All neurotypes are welcome! :) FAE meets every Friday from 4-6 pm in GR 4.428 (unless specified otherwise). As an organization, we have two general goals:
- Building a social community for neurodiverse and interested neurotypical students on campus!
- We have regular social meetings which include special interest presentations, introductions, check-in (we share our energy levels, mood, and preferred noise level), support group (we discuss the challenges related to our autism/neurodivergence and ideas for overcoming these challenges), and finally, we have an rotating activity (board games, card games, comfort item showcase, etc)
- After FAE, members usually go out for dinner and have frequent social hangouts, such as movie or game nights!
- Extending our experiences to the broader community. We have spoken with autistic students, their parents, and even educator groups- to describe our personal experiences, and how we've learned to navigate life's challenges!
