Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program

The Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program was created with the intention of bringing health screening to underserved communities surrounding the University of Texas at Dallas and in the DFW area. Kidney Disease is known as the “silent killer” and lack of access to screening can cause fatal results as CKD progresses. KDSAP is meant to serve as the bridge between hospital services and the community they are supposed to serve while providing undergraduate students the opportunity to learn more about the medical field. KDSAP’s main mission is to empower and educate with compassion and empathy. Healthcare is meant to be a communal service with everyone having access to it. KDSAP will fill the gap by providing free healthcare screenings for Kidney Disease to underserved communities who either lack the knowledge or lack the financial means to tackle the disease.
