Pre-Optometry Professional Society

POPS was first introduced to UTD in 2006, and its purpose was simple. POPS aims to inform prospective optometry students about the field of optometry, provide guidance regarding admission requirements, and assist members in becoming competitive applicants for their prospective schools. POPS also provides access to optometry related events and job opportunities from local doctors, giving our members a chance to further develop their social and technical skills through first hand experience. Additionally, POPS aims to be a community leader by giving students an opportunity to give back through volunteering, whether optometry related or not. Other than providing guidance and opportunities, POPS gives students a chance to meet new friends and peers with similar interests, building a foundation for networking in the future.
