The Society of Women Engineers at UT Dallas, or SWE, is a student organization dedicated to helping women in engineering reach their full potential as engineers and leaders. SWE also works to expand the image of engineering and highlight the value of diversity in the field.
The organization runs several key programs. The Ladies in Tech Mentoring Program connects freshmen with upperclassmen mentors for guidance and support. Through Education Outreach, members teach STEM subjects to K–12 students in the local community. And with SWE Match, students participate in a year-long engineering team project that builds both technical and collaboration skills.
SWE also offers a wide range of events: Industry collaborations with companies such as AT&T, Bank of America, Lennox, and Lennar; volunteering with Dallas SWE and local schools; and the chance to attend the annual WE Conference, the largest women’s engineering conference in the world. And of course, SWE hosts socials that create a welcoming, supportive space for all members.
Whether someone is looking for mentorship, professional development, volunteering, or just a strong community, SWE offers opportunities for every engineer.
