Volunteer Expectations: 8:00AM: Volunteer registration/orientation/task assignment 8:30AM-11:30AM: Volunteer tasks Receiving trucks, preparing cold bags, unloading trucks, stocking shelves, sorting items, preparing boxes, administrative tasks, etc. 11:30-12:00PM: Volunteer experience wrap-up Please consider donating needed items when you come to volunteer! *$25 gift card from your local grocery store; Walmart, Target, Kroger, Market Street, etc. *Canned Fruit *Canned Mixed Vegetables *Boxed Mashed Potatoes *Toiletry items Upon arrival:The volunteer form must be completed by each person volunteering. Please bring the completed form on your scheduled volunteer day. Walk down the red carpet and bring the completed form to the front desk and they will get you checked in. Location and Parking: Minnie's Food Pantry is located in a shopping center, so there is plenty of parking. We ask that volunteers do not park in front of the building, we reserve those spots for our clients. 3033 W. Parker Rd Suite 116 Plano, TX 75023 In the Northeast corner of Parker Rd and Independence Pkwy. GPS tends to send volunteers to old location, so look for the Chase Bank at the corner and Minnie's Food Pantry is located adjacent to the Chase Bank. Dress Code: Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes and appropriate clothing such as, jeans and t-shirt. No sandals/flip-flops, extremely short skirts/shorts or low-cut shirts. Individuals wearing opened toed shoes and inappropriate clothing will not be allowed to volunteer. Carpooling: Please indicate in the registration link whether you need a ride, would like to drive other student volunteers, or would like to meet us at the location. If you are willing to drive others, you will receive 1 service hour due to the distance you will be driving. If no student offers to drive, there will be no carpooling. Minnie's Food Pantry is located in a shopping center. We ask that volunteers do not park in front of the building, as those spots are reserved for clients. Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel this event, you need to cancel by 9/26/2018. Failure to do so and not showing up to the event will result in a 2 hour deduction.
